I have a love hate relationship with TooJays. I really enjoy some of the food, just not everything. Some items I think are delicious and that is why I keep returning. But for me to return I have to be in a very patient mood where I can tolerate the slow counter service or an even slower wait staff. The servers are a bit lackadaisical when it comes to serving their customers in a timely manner. My favorite breakfast item is the French Toast. It's super thick on challah bread. I order it plain although you can add cinnamon and nuts. I also appreciate the fact that when I order bacon extra crispy that is exactly what I receive. On Wednesday they make a Beef Cabbage Soup that is very good. Think of Stuffed Cabbage deconstructed into a hearty soup. It's a meal in itself and delicious. I have had the Matzo Ball Soup on several different occasions. I think it is good but not great. If you want great Matzo Ball Soup then head over to Ben's. If your not seeking perfection then I would recommend trying it. Sometimes it tends to be watered down but most of the time it's okay. The bagels are good. Granted they are not authentic but they are not bad either. I don't like the cream cheese. They claim they use Philadelphia but I find that hard to believe. The Nova is okay for what it is. Nova should be sliced very thin and sometimes they don't slice it correctly. I love a good knish & I do not recommend the knishes here. They have a pasty texture and leave a weird taste in my mouth. A safer bet would be to order the Potato Pancakes. Those are good. They make a fantastic Dijon Chicken Salad. This is my favorite thing to eat at TooJays. White meat chicken is cut up and mixed with a few crisp veggies and tossed in a dressing made up of dijon mustard and mayonnaise. It's not swimming in mayo and I highly recommend tasting this. The flavor is great. They have a decent bakery. Assorted rugelach is something I pick up if I need to bring dessert somewhere. It's not bad. The mini black & white cookies are also very good. Most of their cakes are overly sweet in my opinion so I stick with the cookies and rugelach. All in all I like TooJays. I just don't come here on a regular basis because of the below average service.

How to ruin your appetite, find a nasty bug in your French onion soup for the second time. This is seriously disgusting. What caused it, not putting a top or was it purely from the fact that they did see it and not even care, I literally threw up at the sight of it. Don't order the soup save your self the disgust. Never ordering from here again

I have been there many times over the years. I do not like new menu. it seems like the prices are up and portions are smaller. Still the best matzoh ball soup. Pastrami very good but where's the beef.

This place should not even sell birthday cakes!! I called and put in an order with 48 hour notice and my husband shows up to pick up the cake and they lost the order. Then, they tell him that my birthday cake cannot have writing on it because they send all their cakes to commissary to be done. Why would you even do birthday cakes in the first place if you cannot accommodate a customer?? They told my husband to take the cake to publix for writing. Really??

I am not sure if they are just too busy on the weekends or what but I just had a take out order and it was really sub par I had a pastrami rye and the rye bread was completely stale like it was sitting out all night our corn beef sandwich also had the same stale bread.. I also ordered the potato pancake and they were burnt through and through they were inedible. How does a place lie this have such a big line and serve food like this?

Went in today for lunch waited ten minutes to be seated. when ask for manager he said to wait because she was seating another customer. in the meantime the customer behind us was so pissed off he sat himself and manager still ignored us. when we finally were seated we ordered our drinks we were brought a glass with a few and a straw and told us she would be back with our drinks! duh! ordered lunch when our sandwiches came out we were told our fries would be out shortly. the whole meal was pieced. we again asked for mgr he came over and said why are we so unhappy we explained he rudely walked away. funny thing they were not busy! I say all the time I'm not going back for most of the same reasons but this time I mean it!

It is what it is, a decent deli. Why is it so hard to find one in this area? So many transplanted New Yorkers. Corned beef is decent, baked goods are a reminder of home. Waiters are up to New York standards (overworked, friendly, and rude). Matzo ball soup is , unusually, very lightly salted. A pleasant surprise.

Love TooJays they never disappoint! If you go on off hours or just before the food rush hours you don't have to wait in line and are seated right away. The service was fantastic, the waitress was great. I had the Reuben and matzo ball soup. So good, the matzo soup is filled with chicken pieces. The Reuben has a good amount of meat and the bread is perfect fresh baked bread, and came with coleslaw and a pickle spear. My man got the Jaygantic Burger it a huge 8oz burger with cheddar and bacon, and onion rings. This is by far one of the best burgers in town. Thick, juicy, tasty , and such a great value, My friend got the chicken salad sandwich and he liked it. Fresh lettuce, tomato, chicken & mayo mixture on fresh baked challah bread. TooJays does it again, I'll be back

I call this place Too Sloppy !! Lost my appetite at breakfast this morning, was looking forward to try their breakfast ! Entry looks good when you come thru the front door with all the pastries at the Deli counters. Ordered our breakfast and it came in good time but was shocked and so disappointed by the way the presented my Bacon/Eggs/Sausages would have looked delicious if they didn't stack my pancake and the syrup&butter packs on top. Food I give my Dogs are more presentable that this!! The server wasn't very interested when I complained, She just kept asking if there was anything else!! No Apologies. the manager did apologized but the damage was already done!! What a way to Screw up your Sunday !!

Food is great. Good portions. The family had pot roast, its good but salty. I had the Shepard's pie. Meh. It tastes like dog food from a can. Not that I ever ate dog food, but the pie smells, tasted and looked like dog food in a can. I had a egg cream. It was chocolately and yummy. One of my sons had a kids hot dog. The hot dog looked amazing. I had to try it. The skin snapped. It was so yummy. It was seasoned perfect, no bits of weirdness in it. I just think it was so cool that when I bit into it, it snapped.

Excellent food, great service, huge portions and very fair prices. What's not to love? I came to ToJays for the first time today after living in Coral Springs almost 20 years. I always thought it would be expensive but boy was I wrong. ToJays is very nicely decorated (think upscale diner) and is very good and getting you seated and eating as quickly as possible. I came for a late breakfast and was really surprised at the super reasonable pricing on the menu. My family ordered 1. Eggs Benedict, 2.) ultimate omelette. 3.) the first breakfast special on the menu that comes with a waffle, bacon, sausage, two eggs and toast (for like $7- wow). Verdicts... Eggs Benedict - very good. 2.) omelette - the best of all three, absolutely delicious. 3.) Breakfast special - very good but a lot of food. Overall I was really blown away by the quality and volume of food for the price. It was really excellent and I will be going back frequently. The only reason I held back a star was one of the Eggs Benedict was overcooked (solid yolk) but no one (but me) noticed because there was so much food to share. Great value for the money, very good food and excellent service. 4 Stars.

I decided to use my summer coupon here on Takeaway. I telephoned, mentioned the coupon, and referred to the Toojay's menu I keep at home and ordered, as part of my order, the Mediterrenean Turkey Ciabatta sandwich that, according to the menu I keep says the ciabatta is whole wheat. That wheat bread combined with hummus and tabouli salad sounded like a good healthy lunch. The menu said the Mediterrenean Ciabatta sandwich came with a fruit cup. We talked about the Fruit Cup that it came with at length because I asked what fruits were in their Fruit Cup today. I remember him mentioning Melon and Grapes being part of (today's) the Fruit Cup. Sounded good. Last but not least I asked that no Plastic Utensils be included with my order (bad for the environment and I wouldn't be needing the utensils) as I was going home to eat the food. It seems before we hung up I was quoted a ready time if 20 minutes from when I ordered. I had given m th phone number at the start of the order and at the end of my order I responded that 20 minutes was fine and that I planned to be there in 25 minutes to pick up my order. I arrived in 25 minutes and was initially told your order is "right here." I saw a lone styrofoam box, unbagged, on the counter but it didn't look like my complete order because I ordered more than one meal. A few seconds later- still can't believe he waited this long to tell me, especially since he had my telephone number and all- he casually mentioned that I must have their OLD MENU as they don't have the Mediterrenean Turkey on Ciabatta anymore. And wouldn't he have known that nearly half an hour ago when I phoned in my order?? He seemed to be blaming me for gaving an old menu. He asked "do you want a Turkey on Ciabatta instead? We can make it in about 3 minutes." I said ok and he went into the kitchen. When he came back I said I didn't see the cup of soup I ordered. He got the soup and briught a plastic soupspoon and put in a bag. I presented my coupon and paid and removed the plastic soupspoon before leaving as I specified when I ordered I didn't want plastic utensils. At home I discovered the turkey sandwich was dry without any mayonnaise on it to hold it together. The styrofoam box containing the sandwich I have been discussing had a complete plastic silverware set underneath the sandwich in the box. Kind of crazy insofar as I had asked for utensils to be left out. No Fruit Cup either. At least I got to use my coupon. I picked up there New Menu while there. At least yhe next time they cannot fulfill an order I will not be blamed for ordering off of an old menu of theirs. Or will I?

My review was a week ago, and a week later, I have already had contact with Too Jay's several times. They reached out to me on Yelp, then via email, and finally with a phone call. They told us of staff changes, what they're working on to improve and avoid situations like what happened last weekend, and then to retain us as a customer and to show us what I thought was excellent consumer relations, sent us monetary certificates to use towards future visits at Too Jay's in the next 6 months. I was very pleased that the customer service on the back end deserved 5 stars. I can't redo Yom Kippur, but I will use Too Jays again for how they responded respectfully and really did want to hear my concerns.

Very long wait, terrible service from the hostess. She took our name down, but you had to stand in line the whole time. Not really sure the point of having a waiting list if you have to stand in line. They ran out of mashed potatoes, not really sure how you have potatoes but no mashed potatoes. Just sitting here really confused about what is frozen food or what is fresh. Ordered a Dr. Browns soda and got Mugs instead. Bagel was stale. Worst Toojays I've ever been to!!

I really like TooJays food. The problem with this location is the service. It's TERRIBLE. They really have an issue here and there doesnt seem to ever be anyone in charge. We had a bad experience going for dinner on a weeknight where it took almost 20 minutes to even get a server to come to our table and then 40 minutes for 3 sandwiches. Then this past week I decided to do take out for lunch. They have a sign that says take a number for service. I took a number and stood on line. People kept walking in, not taking numbers, to pick up their phoned in orders. So, I took my number at 11:35 and I was literally the ONLY person standing at the counter. 2 servers at the counter kept walking by me to help the people who were picking up phoned in orders. Finally, at 11:50 I said to one person ringing at the register -" this is ridiculous, I'm standing here 15 minutes and nobody has taken my order". He then asked me if I had a number. Um, really, you're not even calling numbers so why the hell should that matter? But yes, I do happen to have a number. He then proceeded to call out 3 numbers ahead of mine (again nobody else was in line) then he took my order.. I got out of there at 12:20 - seriously - 50 minutes to get a turkey sandwich and 2 soups. NEVER AGAIN will I go to this location.

I like Toojay's but this is a location to stay away from. I work near, so I've given this location a few chances, and have been let down each time. The service is super slow, and the food here is below average.

This place just isn't consistent. One day I'll come for dinner and the food and service will be fantastic...then the next time I come it's disgusting and/or the server is rude. I will say that their matzo ball soup is always good. I do love their banana dream cake. Their sandwiches aren't bad and you can never go wrong with their blintzes. I couldn't eat their chicken pot pie though. It was gross. The chicken was dry and the whole thing just tasted like bad chicken soup. I also won't be back for their breakfast because it is mediocre at best. How do you screw up eggs and bacon?

  • Lenny F.

Pretty good deli for south Florida, pastrami always good, tongue sandwich also good. Recommend mini black and white cookies afterwards. Sometimes long wait for table. Service varies from the different locations they have. Plantation location is awful. Coral Springs much better. Prices reasonable for this type of food. Wish there were more NY style delis to choose from. We will be back when the mood calls for deli again.

I love going here for lunch, and my husband is an even bigger fan. I love their tabouleh and am addicted to their avocado melt. MMM. It's a grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoes, avocados, and caramelized onions. I tell them to hold the mushrooms, but it originally comes with them as well. Wide selection of dishes, guaranteed to please anyone in your party.

Ate there again today with friends, had a corned beef sandwich. Best I've had in a long time. Service was very good, waitress reccommended the potatoe pancakes, and they were delicious!! If you want deli food, this is the place ti go!!'

I've driven past this place more times than I can count. I finally gave TooJay's a go, and now I'm a bit mad at myself that I didn't try it sooner. Getting seated took a bit longer than expected, given that there were plenty of tables available. But the hostess was also a busser, so we waited about 10 minutes for her to seat us. We were then presented with two menus: lunch and dinner. Talk about a lot of options! I had eaten a late lunch, so I wasn't as hungry as my mother. We ordered the small potato latkes to start. She ordered the french onion soup and top sirloin, while I decided to be weird and try two things I hadn't ever had before: a cheese blintz and potato knish. First up, the latkes: Oh. My. God. These were the most amazing potato pancakes I've ever had. Amazingly flavorful and crunchy. How have these not been in my life before now? I most certainly will come back just for these. Next, the french onion soup: delicious! The broth and cheese (of course) were fantastic. Only drawback was that there were a TON of onions in it... Yeah, I realize that sounds strange. We prefer more broth than actual onions in our onion soup ;) My mom's sirloin was originally under-cooked, but came back perfectly the second time around. She loved this steak, and is still raving about it days later. My cheese blintz was yummy, but I was so full from latkes and soup by the time the knish rolled around, so that went in a to-go box. I can't wait to come back and try a full meal here, which will also probably end up in a to-go box since I won't be able to resist those latkes :)

Food was just okay, waitstaff was rude. Had the French onion soup and I feel like I just drank a gallon of salt. The Rachel was decent. Would have given 3 stars if not for the wait staff. They rushed us and did not have a cheery or upbeat personality

Current health inspection report: 1 at Risk Violation This TooJays is in an ideal location. Ample parking and close to everything. I had the Brisket Dip Sandwich and a cup of Matzoh Ball Soup. This sandwich was smaller than the same item I've had at other locations. And the cheese was different too. None the less it was fantatsic. The soup was hot and plentiful. Considering it was busy at the time, our table was served quite quickly. The service was superb. There were no cleanliness issues that I could find. Bravo to the staff!

I'm updating my previous reviews. I was contacted by corporate to share my previously poor experiences with them at the Coral Springs location. I appreciated that they were aware of their yelp reviews and took the time to reach out to me. I don't cook and 75-80% of my weekly takeout comes from Toojay's. I have returned to the Coral Springs location 2-3 more times all with positive experiences. namely, Lisa is always offering me excellent takeout assistance... there was also a gentleman there once asking if I was helped and if I needed or wanted anything or a drink while I was waiting, etc. really impressed and I will continue to come back. thanks!!

If zero was possible, it would be zero.I had the unfortunate experience at eating at this TooJays. The location was at The Walk in Coral Springs, Florida. I have eaten at TooJays in the past and haven't had any issues. That being said, I assure you in the future I will never go to any of their restaurants. To provide an overview, I took my two young children and wife out for a dinner on a Tuesday night for a quick bite. I was expecting to receive a quality meal and service. Unfortunately, my meal was not relaxing, nor enjoyable. Their service was deplorable. First, no one took our order after sitting in your restaurant for 25 mins. Patrons who were seated after us were having their orders taken before ours. We asked another waitress if she was our waitress and then she went to get the waitress who was supposed to be serving us. That took another 10 minutes. We had to waive down the hostess to even receive beverages, We considered leaving but that is not an easy task with two young hungry children. We then ordered a couple of sandwiches, soups, and a kids meal for my youngest. My youngest son is 2 yrs old did not receive his meal for another 25mins. Are you kidding? You have a young child and you serve him last. How is a 2 year old supposed to wait an hour for chicken fingers and fries? I had to take him outside because he was so cranky and hungry.

Fresh sandwiches, doesn't matter which you go into, they are all the same menu. Service is not always the best, but the food is consistently the best deli chain we have. The seniors love this place, because they can get a meal for less than $10. Tummy is always full when you leave here. Just don't go if you are in a hurry. Speed is not their specialty. Seems like the staff get too many tables especially during rush lunch times.

I took a number and stood waiting for a couple of minutes while staff looked and saw I was waiting. It took an elderly couple to walk past me for me to find out...they weren't using the numbers... I decided to eat in...it took three minutes for the hostess to come up at which point I asked for the manager to seat me...another mistake. That added another 5 minutes before she came up to seat me, without asking if there was a problem or issue at which time I had to tell her about the spotty service. I told her I no longer had time for a sit down lunch and needed it to go, to which she responded "I'm sorry you had to wait sir, I'll get your waitress to make your order to go" and walked away...of course the Bill came first, and rather quick at that... Oh look, here's my order...and I have 6 minutes to eat it before my meeting...minus the drive time there...

Toojay's gets the job done but it is not top notch... Between the hosts and the servers, they were all confused, walking around like chickens with their heads cut off. Boy oh boy have portion sizes gone waaaaay down! Our matzoh ball soup was teeny tiny and it was a bowl! There was one small piece of chicken and 2 carrots in the whole thing. My stuffed tomato was a portion size for an infant at the price of a big strong man. In my opinion, it is not worth the price. But when you are craving some deli food, it might hit the spot.

4 stars as a deli. 3 stars as a restaurant overall. 4 stars relative to the other casual options in Coral Springs. This is almost always the destination when I'm visiting home and going out to dinner with my grandparents. They do a pretty good job with their core competency: New York style deli food. That's what you should come here for. I generally get the matzo ball soup and a Reuben or Rachel sandwich; I think they're both great. Other standards -- sandwiches with corned beef or pastrami, bagel-y things involving salmon or whitefish, chopped liver, tongue -- have all been good. Their cakes and black-and-white cookies are great too. I wouldn't recommend anything too far outside this genre though. I've had their burger and was pretty disappointed with how flavorless and dry the meat was. My grandfather once tried the shepherd's pie and declared it "not brilliant." Tips: - You can substitute fruit or a potato pancake instead of French fries with your sandwich. - If you come between 5 and 7 on a weekend night, you're confronting the South Florida early-bird grandparent demographic head on, so expect a wait and some maybe not stellar service.

Came here with a client for lunch. Had the Tuscan Chicken Ciabatta. It was very very good. Bread was freshly baked and everything else was very fresh. Also a very good portion. Fries were okay. Service was a little bit slow but still nice. Prices were fair. Would recommend.

Eh. This place is a little inconsistent. They are too busy and understaffed. If you walk up to the counter it may take several minutes before someone acknowledges you. Food is ok...depending on what you order. Lots of old people! Just never really satisfied with what i get here for my money.

Here's why I'm giving this place 5 stars... Besides being completely packed we were seated fairly quickly. Our waitress was quick to take our order and bring drinks... Unfortunately, we were kind of in a hurry and my fiancee didn't notice that the sandwich he ordered had sauerkraut, which he hates! Waitress didnt give us any trouble and brought us out a fresh new sandwich without the pesky vegetable. Will be back when we have more than 30 minutes to eat!

Came here on a rainy Saturday with the family after soccer games at lunch. I agree with many of the posters here that service is not good and perhaps they can't handle the crowds that come in? Families and seniors mostly. Understood that it is 'snowbird season' and I don't mind waiting in a line or having some wait for food - but come on seriously. Chicken nuggets for the kids don't take 25 minutes after ordering. I usually suffer through the bad service just so I can get the Matzo Ball soup that I really (used to) like...but now we have Bagels and a Whole Lot More and Brooklyn Bagel in town that are going to clean up... few things I come to a 'deli' like this for... breakfast, bagels, chicken/tuna salad and matzo ball soup. My other half is a carnivore and must have pastrami and corned beef -- so this used to work out for the both of us. Service was just SO bad - and the wait staff was arguing and complaining/laughing/making fun of and about customers at the wait / order stand which is located in the middle of the restaurant within ear shot of at least 10 tables. Granted every other customer may have on a hearing aide (god bless these lovely folks) but I heard every comment you were making and you all are NOT very nice or customer focused. That is very sad because - many of these seniors that support your restaurant (I am not a senior) are on limited income and this may be one of the few pleasures that they have in life...be respectful and appreciative of their continued business at your less than stellar customer service restaurant. I am so embarrassed FOR YOU.

If your getting a sandwich get the deli meat platter instead. You can choose 3 meats and you get bread on the side so you can make your own sandwich. Plus you get cole slaw and potato salad, a couple cucumber slices and pickle wedges on a bed of lettuce. The tongue was really good this time but the corned beef is always good too. Most consistently good restaurant I know of and has been for years.

Not what I expected from a deli but I guess I have been spoiled by authentic ones. Service is never consistent (or consistently good for that matter), table always feels dirty/greasy, and deli meats are never that tasty. Even bakery items are bland which is very disappointing.

Good Jewish style deli with fresh baked rye bread. Can be very crowded at dinner time, but worth the wait.

Great location for a casual family breakfast or lunch. Very extensive menu with something for everyone. Sometimes the wait can be a bit long but I guess this is a reflection on the loyal following. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was one poor experience related to a waiter who pretty much abandoned us. Service on other visits has been good though.

Why people gotta be complainin'?! First of all, some reviews are saying that it's a New York style deli with New York style prices. Have you EVER been to a New York deli?! Katz' charges $15.75 for a pastrami sandwich. Toojays can't be more than $9. First of all, I tried the loaded latkes. Yes, they're sacrilege. Cheese and stuff on latkes? At first I was skeptical. Then I ATE them. Bangin'. Like loaded fries, but with LATKES. How could you go wrong?! Got the sampler platter with corned beef, pastrami, and chopped liver. Hail. Yes. The meat was sliced super thin and so rich and flavorful. The chopped liver was creamy and earthy and a great compliment. It came with some great cole slaw and bread to make your own sandwich. Interactive deli? I'll take it. I'll definitely be stopping by next time I'm in Florida!

One of the perks of being engaged to a Jewish person is eating Matzo Ball soup every week with my first cut corned beef sandwich. The best plate I have had there is the hot open turkey sandwich. The best thing on the menu. What I love is that the cheesecake actually taste like cheesecake (not like TGIF where it taste like vanilla pudding). Better cheesecake than The Cheese Cake Factory. The staff is very friendly, but i have that problem at times where servers judge me by my age and give me sub-par service. Overall, had more good times there than bad.

Some of the worst Jewish food I have ever eaten in South Florida. Went for latkes and stuffed cabbage. Latkes was thick, cold and greasy. Otherwise pretty good. Cabbage was also cold with dried meat stuffed into limp cabbage leaves covered in bottled sauce. Should stay with mini black and whites from now on.

Oy! This is some good delicatessen if I've ever seen some. Sure it's a franchise, so what? It's still a really good place. Period. I'll start with the flaws. * The Kids - Parents Everywhere: Curb your children. Oy! Let your kids climb on people's chairs and cry at 60 decibels. This isn't toojay's fault but still, it deters me from coming here * The Service - This is something Toojay's can control a bit better. The service is absolutely terrible. It can take twenty or more minutes just to order a glass of water. Come on Toojay's step it up. ---- The food is great. The day Carnegie Deli or Katz's Deli : Sixth Burrow opens up in Coral Springs, I'll stop coming here. But until that day, Toojay's pastrami & pickles is good enough for me. Gotta love that French Onion Soup! Bottom Line: The prices aren't terrible. The service could be improved. Place is big (kinda).

The food was good. The service was good the prices were good. I ordered a roast beef sandwich on rye. It was not very rare, but it was tender and tasty. Everyone else that had joined me for lunch said there food was good also. The on duty manager was friendly and was not afraid to lend a hand when needed. Definitely will return.

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH YOUR BELONGINGS AT TOOJAY'S IN CORAL SPRINGS! Today is my son's birthday and his dad came from out of town to take him to lunch at TooJay's, once there he gave his son a birthday card with $100.00 cash inside as a gift. My son was so happy, he read the card, placed the money back inside the card and placed both inside the envelope. They ate, paid and left, my son realized he left his birthday card inside on the table, immediately they went back in only to be faced with the most rude people ever, the staff! Specially the waitress who denied ever seeing my son's birthday card, it was a huge envelope and it was opened before ordering and before the food came in, still she never saw the card sitting right on top of the table. My son's dad also asked only to feel appalled at the way they were spoken to. My son left sad, he wanted his father's card and had made plans to go shopping with his dad with the money he got. A day that started so special for him left him horrified and terribly sadden by the way the staff at TooJay's in Coral Springs including the waitress were towards him and his dad. WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN, THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE AND THE STEALING TOPPED IT ALL. BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE AND STAY VERY FAR! KARMA WILL GET TO THE PERSON WHO STOLE MY SON'S BIRTHDAY CARD AND HIS MONEY.

We came here for lunch a few days ago and had corned beef sandwiches. We all enjoyed our food and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We didn't try any of the deserts, but they looked good.

Good food but slow as a turtle going uphill. If you go for lunch plan on staying for dinner. We actually had to remove Toojay's from our lunch spots due to how incredibly slow they are and it usually turning into an hour and half lunch. The crowd is mostly older and I guess the staff assumes nobody is in a hurry. Food is decent but I'm not sure the atmosphere or the slowness of it all is worth it.

The final stop on my relatives' deli tour of South FL was Toojay's and they were impressed with the experience. It's a step up from your average corner deli. Toojay's menu is huge, so if you can't find something to order here, you may as well go home. Sandwiches, salads, soups, dinners, deli platters, you name it, they serve it. Of course, they serve a lot of typical Jewish specials too: latkes, blintzes, nova, things like that. There's also a huge deli and bakery case right when you walk in, so if they serve it, you can take it home with you, too. The restaurant itself is very clean and cozy, though it gets crowded at peak hours. Expect to wait awhile if you show up during typical early bird dining times. Service is alright, though on my last few visits, we've had flakey waitresses that have been hard to flag down or who forget parts of the order. And the food? I've tried quite a few things on the menu here, mainly sandwiches, and all of them have been very good. The deli meats are good quality (roast turkey off the frame, corned beef), and the salads fresh and creamy. One of my favorites is the Mandarin chicken salad, it's a yummy blend of chicken, fresh fruit, and nuts. Very refreshing on a hot day. You can ask for your sandwich to be served on any type of bread that they have. Toojay's challah bread is especially good, very soft and delicious. Most of the sandwiches come with a side, typically a small bowl of coleslaw and a pickle. My family also raves about the soups here, particularly the matzoh ball soup. A bowl of soup and one of Toojay's melts is just the right thing to warm you up on a cold day. My mom loves the meatloaf, which you can get as a melt or a dinner. I'm not even a big meatloaf fan and I have to admit that theirs is pretty darn good. My one complaint about Toojay's is that the prices can get kind of high - dinners are pricey for a deli, as are sides. If your sandwich doesn't come with fries, they're $3 extra. That's a bit much IMHO. Portion size is average, not too large, but not too skimpy. Definitely recommend if you're looking for typical deli fare in a slightly nicer atmosphere than your average deli.

Very inexpensive. Anyone who complains that this place charges too much, should get outside more often. 10 bucks for a sandwich isn't much money now a days. However, I think the Sandwich was very dry. There has to be better quality sandwiches somewhere near by. I can't say there isn't value here because it's so cheap to get a meal here. I would rather spend a couple of bucks more and get a better product. The Onion Soup was pretty good. Service was ok.

I've been here several times and everything on the menu is awesome. I always order their French onion soup because its one of my favorites. This place is always packed around lunch time but you usually wait no more than 5 minutes. Their salads are excellent as well as the burgers and desserts! It's a little pricey but you won't leave disappointed.

I live nearby, and this used to be a standard place to go for a good meal... I come from Jersey where diners are staple, and this reminds me of home. However, the last few times have been disappointing, but I let it slide. On the first disappointing occurrence, a mustard cap fell on the floor from our table - the waiter picked it up (it landed cap DOWN on the floor) and screwed it right back on the bottle WITHOUT cleaning it off. EWWWW!) Ok, but the food was tasty, especially the reuben. We have a particular waitor who waits on us who frequently tells us he never eats the food from the back.... hmmmm. On another occasion I was suffering from a head cold and wanted their chicken soup (very good) and a tuna melt to go. Got home, started digging into the melt and lo and behold, pulled a long, blonde (not mine) hair from my mouth. Done. Yuck. Today, having breakfast with a friend - waiting so long for our food, new manager, kitchen backed up... apologies, apologies... wait , wait... finally food comes... eating...and a roach crawls from under our table, across the floor to the customers across the aisle who gave it a good stomp after expressing their disgust. (We were sitting against the kitchen wall.) It disgusted us, as well as the other customers. The manager was informed, and picked it up in a napkin - no apologies, just routine. Ok, after seeing this and reading about the 17 live roaches found in the Coral Springs Ale House recently, I`ll be cooking home more often. YYYYYUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!

Every time I visit my grandmother in Florida this is where she wants to go. That says enough on its own. It is very good for what they are, a deli. Their meats are fresh and their tuna salad is exceptional. They don't serve a bad breakfast either. Like my rating says its A-OK

I sent this letter to the corporate office. The did not respond. I guess they do not care. I hope it will matter to my YELP friends and community. I have been a customer at "Too Jays"at several locations. Yesterday was an embarrassment. We took my father for an early Fathers Day late afternoon lunch at your Coral Springs location. There were no long lines as I usually find, and I was happy not to have to wait long. For a Saturday, I was surprised. I can not tell you what a disappointment that lunch was. My father was excited when we told him we were taking him .He has heard the commercials and has heard about a location not far from where he lives, . My dad and husband wanted to order the Stuffed cabbage meal. It was not on the menu because it was lunch time. We asked if we could order it and were told yes all dinner meals were available. I just wonder why the menu was not made available in that case We ordered. The waitress asked if we had coupons. I said no. It was a Fathers Day meal, and she replied well in that case I will have VIP cards for your before you go. Having told him of the great matzo ball soup we each( there were four of us) ordered a cup. When the soup arrived it was horrible. Not at all the same as the other times I have been there and to make matters worse, the matzo balls were raw. The were gummy and mushy. They were tasteless. As I suffered thru the start of my meal in silence, my father announced," this is terrible, the MB is not cooked." The other all agreed silence was broken. The waitress has not available so two off us pushed the remains of our partially eaten raw MB to the side on the dish to show the waitress when she returned. A little later the lady appeared with our main dished, two dinners of stuffed cabbage and two turkey pastrami sandwiches. We told her how awful the MB's were and showed her. She said no they weren't uncooked but she had "fresh ones coming out in a few minutes. I assumed all that she served were fresh. Was the soup so made because it was old and uncooked. She said would bring us some. Fine we said. They never came out. We said nothing. Be very careful of the very hot plates the waitress said as she put the Stuffed Cabbage on the table. They were careful, very careful but the only thing that was hot was the plate. They also ordered as a side dish a potato pancake. Neither one enjoyed the hard, chewy pancake. Both of these people have been eating these foods for over 80 years. Both love these dishes and never ever complain about them. Since the MB never came they did just make the decision to call the meal a wash and eat it cool. While, yes it was by choice, we were eating our sandwiches which were fine, what could go wrong with them. They were hungry and did not want to wait for the waitress to come, return the food, heat, it and come back. However, they chose to take half home where they could heat it and eat if hot when not so aggravated. When the waitress returned to see how we were doing, again we relayed our experience. She said she would have returned it and had it heated. I just shock my head. I said raw MB and cold cabbage, and hard pancakes. She said she would be glad to give me some soup to go. I never got the matzo ball the soup was miserable as well. Why would I want to take it home? No thanks I said. Thank you anyway. OK she said, I will get the the manager. She walked away to get the boxes we asked for. She returned and surprise, the manager never showed up either. Surprised. I sure wasn't. The waitress was nice. She did act concerned. Who knows if she was, nothing was really like it should have been. She offered us the soup again. She took the two cups were that were Ala carte off the bill. That was ok. It did not replace a good meal. I thanked her. Told her that she wasn't the cook. I tipped her more than usual so no one could say we were complaining for a discount. The custom is always has an angle. I gave her $15.00's to make a point. NO ANGLE. THE MEAL STUNK. It was the principle. How does my story end. We never were given the VIP card. addendum Needless to say my father probably will never visit your other location. Needless to say It ruined my holiday spirit. Just wanted you to know what horrible customer service you had that.

My experience is only for lunch, on many occasions over multiple years. Very decent food can sometimes be slow but usually on the mark. I have no complaints and enjoy the food from sandwiches to salads and nova platters. Smile with the staff and they will smile back; their customer base is a tough one and if you brighten their day it will be reciprocated,

New York style deli with close to New York style prices. Seriously overpriced for sandwiches that are so mediocre. The wait staff I had at lunch was slow, got some orders wrong, and not the friendliest. I saw no reason to return.

Not much to recommend Toojays. I went in thinking it was a really good sandwich place, and the prices would indicate that it is ($8.75 for most sandwiches) but my Rueben was just okay. It tasted less than fresh somehow. And the grilled cheese with ham and tomato didn't have any tomato on it when it came. They serve breakfast and brunch. The muffins in the counter looked really good, and would be the only thing I went back for.

I love the matzo ball soup at Toojays but find the sandwiches overpriced for the quality and quantity of sandwich that you receive. The meals are ok, you get a heathy portion of good lasagna for the price. Of course some days I just walk into Toojays to order the carrot, cheese and chocolate cakes. Those are to die for but the portion is small.

Considerate service, good food, well priced. Basic deli fare, I went for the corned beef hash which was offered with grits, fruit or oatmeal. Liked the choice of oatmeal. The coffee was nice as well. Indoor and outdoor seating.

For Coral Springs, it is about as close as you are going to get to a New York-style deli. Good sandwiches, soups and desserts. Basically, if you grew up in NY, this is a good place to go for comfort food.

toojays anywhere is good. its kosher too so as long as you eat meat, you can eat here. vegetarians have a variety of selections here as well. the italiano and the reuben are my fav picks. and for dessert i always pick the trio and go for cheesecake, killer cake and carrot cake. the killer cake definitely lives up to its name. you have to experience it! Happy Eating!

i was not impressed. we walked in at 9:45 pm for a light dinner. we were greeted by a waitress who rushed us by saying "the kitchen is closing in 5 minutes so you need to order NOW." whoa! i barely got to glance at the menu. i settled on a tongue sandwich (yes, tongue! i'm jewish. thats what i like!). the tongue was fatty and the pickle was flavorless.
